Alanoville will be home to 75 families. Named after a Sapodilla tree that is indigenous to this region, the community is spread across 5 acres in North Bangalore. You have 3 distinct choices of private outdoor extensions to your row villa. A patio that overlooks the boulevards, a private garden or a personal wade pool. The idea was to specifically curate the design to visually extend the private living spaces of each row villa out into these private outdoor spaces and beyond into strategically placed common gardens. This way we have been able to make the 2957 sq.ft and 3450 sq.ft row villas feel much airier. Spaces visually cascade into one another. At some points, your field of view from within your villa is uninterrupted for up to 80 feet and more.

When the design of a space is contingent on dozens of invisible but connected factors that are tweaked to either fit, avoid or complement each other; there is a certain delight to walking into such a space and not being able to put your finger on exactly what makes it work. Design isn’t just visual, it has to be all-pervasive and functional too.
The intent throughout this design process was to maximize green garden spaces across the property and give every resident the ability to visually access them from within their villa. This wouldn’t be possible if we didn’t work hard to reduce the footprint of motorable roads within the property. We chose to cobble all the motorable roads to subtly impel a driver to slow down his vehicle. This helped us do away with the unsightly black tarmac roads, so we deliberately blended the cobbled roads and the pedestrian pathways with the landscaping. We were also able to tuck away the car parks for most of the villas. So if you walk down any road in Alanoville, its reminiscent of walking through a finely detailed formal landscape and you’re less likely to see cars punctuating your view. We have retained the natural topography of the land and ended up using it to our advantage by planning the drainage system to utilize its natural slope.

AN INDEPENDENT BUILDING WITH AN ATTACHED POOL AND A HOST OF AMENITIES
The clubhouse overlooks the pool and has direct access to the pool deck. Keeping with the vocabulary of the rest of the project, the structure seamlessly blends with the facades of the villas. There is a party hall on the 3rd floor with a deck that partially opens to the sky. The lift gives people easy access to the gym and the games rooms. Dedicated service access-ways ensure trouble-free maintenance of the infrastructure housed below the clubhouse.
